Our next project is GlobalSurg-CovidSurg Week, is an international prospective cohort study to determine the optimal timing of surgery following SARS-CoV-2 infection and assess key global surgical outcomes including perioperative mortality rates. All hospitals can participate, even if they have not had patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.
All surgeons can participate, collecting data on patients undergoing any type of surgery. Patients can be enrolled over any one week period in October 2020.
Already 1900 hospitals across 135 countries registered for the study!
We would love to work with you; you can register your interest in taking part at is.gd/surgweek.
Going forward, with the publication of each CovidSurg research paper, we will publish a lay summary, update our digital patient resources and work with our patient group to ensure accessibility. More than ever, surgical patients must be able to access the latest information.
